BHAKTVARAKSH
The brand Bhaktvaraksh is a sister to my previous project “Nari Ki Sari” which focused on fabrics. This brand on the other hand would focus on the heritage of Indian Crafts. Though differing from Nari Ki Sari, Bhaktvaraksh would also provide the artisans it meets a platform to sell their products along with giving information about the particular
craft.

The Logo of Bhaktvaraksh is an androgynous figure which dances in joy. The brown skinned figure wears traditional Indian attire of dhoti and an untariya with hair shaped like peacock feathers. The figure was selected for the brand as it promotes gender fluid idea of fashion while being Indian in taste.
Etymology
“Bhaktvaraksh” made with two words “Bhakt” meaning devotee and “Varaksh” meaning tree. The First half of the name “Bhakt” celebrates the devotion of the artisan for the craft, the way they give their whole life's in mastering their crafts and propagating it.

The second half of the name “varaksh” highlights the selfless way in which the artisans bare all hardships yet make these stunning pieces and selling them, like a selfless tree bearing sunshine, winds and drought and yet giving its fruits to all.
